A driver charged with drunken driving in Rhode Island pleaded not guilty Monday in Attleboro District Court.
According to officials with the Rhode Island State Police, 44 year-old Frederic M. Golembewski, of 86 High St. in North Attleboro, was ordered held in jail in lieu of $5,000 bail after pleading not guilty to a second-offense drunken driving charge and three related offenses. Investigators say Golembewski collided with the rear of a car driven by 51 year-old Laura J. Russ, Friday night.
Russ suffered a broken ankle, two broken ribs and a punctured lung in the crash, but is expected to be released from Rhode Island Hospital in Providence Tuesday, prosecutors say.
